Licorice helps to soothe irritated mucous membranes and stimulate mucus secretion to coat the stomach wall with a protective gel. Flavonoids, such as those found in licorice, also help reduce gastric secretion. Nature's Life® DGL Chewable tablets are deglycyrrhizinated, since the natural glycyrrhizin in licorice may cause increases in blood pressure and water retention.
